About
Dr. Amir Rezazadeh is a horticultural scientist and Extension professional serving as an Extension Agent II with the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) in St. Lucie County. Since joining UF/IFAS in 2019, he has developed a highly impactful Extension program focused on commercial fruit production, alternative crops, and pesticide safety education, serving growers across St. Lucie and Indian River counties. His work integrates applied research, stakeholder-driven programming, and innovative outreach methods to address some of the most pressing challenges facing Florida agriculture.
The focus of Dr. Rezazadeh’s work is helping growers adapt to the ongoing challenges affecting Florida’s citrus industry, particularly citrus greening disease (Huanglongbing, HLB). Recognizing the need for diversification, he has played a key role in introducing and evaluating alternative crops, including mango, banana, vanilla, and microgreens. Through workshops, field demonstrations, and consultations, he provides science-based guidance on crop selection, production practices, and economic feasibility, helping growers transition to more resilient agricultural systems.
