    General Information

Sugar Belle® is one of the most HLB-tolerant cultivars known to the State of Florida. Sugar Belle® has been extensively planted in Florida and is being evaluated in multiple trials.  Fruit is intended for the fresh market; however, in Central and South Florida, fruit can be soft in the HLB environment.  Antimicrobial trunk injections seem to mitigate this problem somewhat, with some groves reporting pack out; however, the juice is an excellent blending agent for ◦Brix.  Acid can be high, depending on the season.  In Citrus Under Protected Screen (CUPS), Sugar Belle® has excellent quality but may set variably from year to year. The fruit does not peel all the way to the base of the fruit.
