    Canker disease on leaves

    Diseases

Florida’s warm, humid climate and sandy soils make it an ideal environment for growing citrus. However, these same conditions are also suitable for many bacterial, fungal, and viral diseases. Over the years, numerous diseases have entered the state, each presenting challenges to both growers and researchers. With each disease comes a learning curve—understanding the symptoms, spread, management techniques, and the impact on citrus production.
